Turmeric remedy to treat pilonidal cysts

turmeric remedy for pilonidal cyst

Turmeric is one of nature’s most powerful healers. It has been shown to treat certain types of cancers, skin diseases, Alzheimers, and obesity.

A relative of the ginger plant, turmeric is native to tropical South Asia due to its need for excessive rain in order to survive.

Turmeric has many health benefits, but its most widely used to treat skin ailments because of anti-bacterial agents. It is also put in tea as a popular gastrointestinal treatment in many parts of Asia.

Why you should use turmeric

Turmeric’s medicinal powers come from the many antioxidants it contains. Most notably, vitamin C, vitamin E and several carotenoids along with an anti-inflammation inhibitor called cyclooxygenase.

When applied directly to your pilonidal cyst, turmeric will subside swelling and ease inflammation, while speeding up the healing process.

Turmeric also contains curcumin, an anti-viral agent which protects the cyst from becoming infected.

How to use turmeric to treat your pilonidal cyst

Always clean the area first with an antibacterial soap before applying.

Make a paste of turmeric and either apply it directly to your pilonidal cyst or saturate a piece of medical gauze and firmly hold it in place with medical tape.

Almost immediately, the turmeric paste goes to work fighting infection and using its many beneficial properties to calm the skin.

It may sting at first, but will quickly dissipate within a few minutes. Keep the paste on your cyst throughout the day and change it right before going to bed at night.

Where to find turmeric

You can find turmeric in all parts of the world. Either in supermarkets or in herbal and health food stores.

There are also convenient turmeric creams, ready to be squeezed out of a tube and applied to your pilonidal cyst.

You can even find turmeric soaps which have amazing benefits for your skin.

Like other remedies you will find on this site, it is also recommended to take turmeric internally to help fight your cyst from the inside out. Rather than trying to eat turmeric everyday, take one of the many turmeric supplements available on the market.

This actually works. I use a high concentrated turmeric paste on my cyst and also a turmeric supplement. since i started doing that, I have had very little problems with my cyst. Plus I exercise more and stay away from fatty foods.

      Nice Savannah.

But you hit the nail on the head when you said you exercise more and stay away from fatty foods. That’s half of the healing process.

      Nice job and stay well.

    Hello!

I’ve been having a pilonidal cyst for a long time and it is not a big mather for me because it is not too painful. However it comes big or small (or more or less painful), depending on the weeks..

I’ve talked to my doctor and I really think that the actual problem is the boil, that keeps the infection on, always allowing inputs of dirty. And when the cyst is ok, it starts again to getting infected as a cicle..

So what I think we should fight to, is the boil clousing.. Has anyone closed the boil with tea oil, turmeric, castor oil, or any other natural issue?

Savannah and isley, how did it end up? Is it closed? Or is it only in a latent?

    Thank you,

    Eduard

You know guys, I’m really surprised that this page has gotten more comments. Turmeric is a wonderful healing plant that really can help with the pain and swelling.

It’s easy to find and so easy to use. I don’t know why more people don’t try it.

So, my challenge is for everyone visting this page to at least try this treatment and get back with us by commenting on what you thought about it, good or bad.

It’s time to give turmeric the respect it deserves. :-P

Hello. I had developed an infection about three days ago when I started having pain sitting down. By yesterday it was so bad I could barely walk, there was so much pressure on my tailbone that I was shaking with the pain.
So I finally tried looking up what was happening and decided to try the turmeric treatment. After applying it I watched a movie on my stomach and when I went to the bathroom I noticed that the cyst had completely emptied itself and the pain was gone. I feel so much better.

I cut a module out of a dsspoiable heat wrap (I left the protective coating over the top) and made a bandage out of several regular band-aids. After a few hours this made it come to a head. I then drained it and medicated it myself. I may have to follow up with a visit to the doctor next week but at least I won’t have to pay an ER visit this weekend. Thanks for the help!
